Water crisis in Mexico
Pescadaro, Baja California Sur
Addressing theย waterย problem
In the past five years โ Many Mexican families have been priced out of home ownership and the rental housing market. Gentrification has driven the cost of living through the roof.
A community adjacent to Pescadero was recently established by the federal government of Mexico and will eventually accommodate thousands of people. To address the gentrification problem the federal government has allocated affordable (1/3 acre) lots available for purchase by Mexican citizens from all over Mexico.
Amigos De Los Campos
The Amigos is a group of concerned citizens in partnership with Life Resources Institute. Our Mission is to improve the living conditions of the poverty stricken residents of the Campo in Pescadero. Our goal is to assist with the infrastructure and accessibility to all persons living in the neighborhood. We hope to improve housing, health, food, water, and sanitation for survival.
Water is most critical
While many issues effect these residents, water has been identified as the most critical need. They currently do not have any access to potable water. This means no safe water for drinking or sanitation.
Over 500 people are currently
living in tents and makeshift
housing, without clean water,
in Pescadaro.We need your
cash donations to help
our neighbors.
